Sauna FAQs
Our sauna is made of cedar wood, heated with an electric sauna heater, and free to use for registered guests at Adirondack Diamond Point Lodge. As a general precaution, you should always make sure someone in your party knows you are in the sauna. We also recommend drinking one or two glasses of water and taking a rinse-off shower before and after using the sauna.
The sauna is open year-round and is available from 8:00AM until 11:00PM, 7 days a week.
No, the sauna is available on a first come, first served basis.
The sauna can accommodate up to 6 adults.
All guests using the sauna must bring a towel to sit on. In general, a bathing suit or shorts and a shirt are recommended attire when using a sauna.
For health and safety reasons, the maximum time you can stay in the sauna is 30 minutes. First-time users may want to start with 5-10 minutes and gradually increase their time.
Sauna-use is generally not recommended for children under the age of six. All kids under the age of 15 must be supervised by an adult and should limit their exposure to a maximum of 15 minutes.
Guests with uncontrolled high or low blood pressure, a recent heart attack, unstable angina, severe heart disease, active infections, fever, pregnancy, atopic dermatitis, epilepsy, severe respiratory conditions, low blood volume, or those under the influence of alcohol or drugs should not use the sauna. Consult a doctor before using the sauna if you have any concerns about your health.
Use of the sauna is at your own risk. Take cool off breaks by stepping outside and then going back in. If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, or get a headache, leave the sauna immediately.
You can adjust the temperature in the sauna using the controls at the door. In cold weather, we recommend “pre-heating” the sauna for 10 minutes prior to use.
Our sauna is located below Cabin #25 in “The Pines”.
